Curious if anyone has any data or rough idea of the life expectancy (round count) of this action?

Been using one for 10-11 years now for FTR rifle. Last 4 years with pretty stout 200g Berger load. Been through 3 barrels, couple firing pins/springs, same bolt and head. No problems to date.

Just curious how many rounds before I need to change as precaution.

No time limit for precaution’s sake. The Action is good until you see something wrong. Rusted through, metal corrosion? Cracks? Action bent from damage?

At worst, the lugs will degrade to the point they can’t be cut. If you need a number, that won’t happen for many, many MANY thousands of rounds! You ever wonder why there are so many heavily used surplus rifles? Many with 10’s of Thousands of rounds through them, yet they function just fine.

Don’t worry on it. Shoot the rifle until stress signs appear.

That's pretty much what I was thinking, thanks for confirming. Have around 15K rounds on it with no visible problems.

There ya go.. Like I said, no damage & Action lug ramps haven’t worn to nothing, and it will go on indefinitely.

If you keep the lug ramps clean & lubed , take good care of the threads when you change barrels, and don't kill it with a over pressure round it should go indefinitely.

I think this is where I am supposed to reply
”Danger Danger! It is worn out, do not use any longer. Send to me for proper disposal……”
