I have a Savage 111 and 110 in 7mm Mag and 30-06. I am looking for a hard hitting load for hunting.

I have 154 SST for the 7mm and several other spire point bullets 110 gr thru 200 gr.

For the 30-06 I have 185 gr Nosler BT and 155 gr Amax.

Powder is not really an issue, except for Varget. I have not got any right now and it has been a little hard to get around here..

I am ope to all loads.

What is your PET LOAD???

I use H4831 or H4831SC in both. Sorry, have to work up your own load in your rifle.

What range? If you are looking for the hardest hitting loads in 06, look at the Woodleigh 240 grain or Hawk 250 grain on top of a max load of 4350 (you will need to find max for your rifle). Those would be the "close range - ton of bricks" loads.

A better question is what are you hunting? A "hard hitting" load using a tough bullet intended for Brown Bear would be apt to go through a whitetail deer like a knitting needle. A "hard hitting" deer load would be too fragile and lack penetration on really big stuff like moose or elk.

What do you want it to do?

This was really clost to max in my 7mm, use at your own risk. Even better, work up your loads to this point. "I accept no responsibility, etc, etc, you know the drill"
139SST CCI 250 WW case 71.5gr H-1000 bullet seated on the lands.
Great load for N.E. Whitetails and similar game.
