I recently replaced my Savage mdl 16's extractor for the third time due to faulty extracton.After installation the extractor works beautifully, much better than previous replacements. However my groups at 100 yards with a cast boolit NOE 260-105-FN, went to pot. Previously the load of 9.5g of Unique and this boolit shot inch or better groups. Today I didn't get any group even approaching 2 inches!
A check of mounts etc detected nothing loose.
The question is....Can a new extractor that is perhaps thicker than the previous ones cause the bolt to be out of allignment or something to cause such poor groups?
