B & C Tactical Medalist 4.40 screw spacing Centerfeed

I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to fit a B & C Tactical Medalist to my Savage/Stevens 4.40 screw

spacing, CENTER FEED. The problem was where the small metal piece that holds the blind magazine down

sets at where the rear screw comes up to meet the receiver. The aluminium frame is not milled down

enough and in trun will not let the receiver bed into the stock. I used a Dremal tool and a file and it took

a while to trim that area down. That aluminium is a lot harder than I thought it would be.

I got "R" done and also let B & C know about the problem.

What did B&C say? Was your stock defective (they forgot to mill the channel for the L bracket on your stock)? Or are all B&C centerfeed stocks affected by this problem?

Mine came in the mail today and it was milled for the L-bracket.

I had sent pictures of the problem to B&C and told them I fixed it. They were happy that I fixed the problem.
