Stevens 301 stocks?

I have 2 Stevens 301s, one in 12 and one in .410, both synthetic stocks. 410s nice and light, but I want to put a wood stock on the 12ga, and from what I've heard these guns are pretty much replicas of h&rs. Could I get a stock for a h&r and make it fit, or would I have to start with a blank. I understand I'd need to modify the forend for the takedown.

No clue on how close or similar they are to an H&R in terms of the stock. I would imagine they wouldn't be too different on the butt stock, but the 301's stock is pretty slim in the wrist where it meets up with the frame whereas I recall the H&R's being a little beefier in that area.
