Rifle stock for open sights option

Did Savage ever built Model10/110 with stocks built for open/iron sights?
Drop comb style stock?
It seems all rifles except some CZ's built nowadays are set up for scopes.
Meaning the stock comb is pretty high to accommodate optics.

Don't know if this will help but my 110L has iron sights and it has a Monte Carlo stock on it. Made way back in 1963.

Not quite sure what you mean. Stocks aren’t made for the sights, rather for LOP & shoulder rest. Sight height is determined by the cheek weld.

But Savage has made various models with open sights through the years. The standard 110 was always available with blade sights.

The Model 11 Scout was made with rear mounted Peep sight. These sights can be purchased.

Stocks are definitely made for sights.
Next rifle has stock that brings your cheek weld higher for the scope, which sits higher above the barrel centerline.

Not meaning to sound like know it all.
I have Savage Cub I bought for the kids when they were littler and it came with aperture sight.
Great single shot rifle for learning. Its stock is however is more for the scope also.
And you really have to press your cheek against the stock to be able to use open sights.
And even then it is uncomfortable. You must even tilt your head a bit

Oh, no…. I get the aspect of what you are saying. I understand it’s about the height of the shooters line of sight. I’ve simply always relied on adjusting my own cheek weld. Even on older Sporter stocks I’ve used. I would make my own. Now I use Chassis’.

Savage has a rifle that comes with open sights from the factory... something like a brush hunter or dangerous game rifle. When I shot it nothing stuck out about the stock being any different or having a drop comb- but it may. It was easy to get a cheek weld and use the sights- but (it was a while ago) I think the open sights where quite tall and not the normal setup. Haven't ever seen a savage stock with the big drop like what a lever gun has.

But find a cheap one and go to work with a little customizing.
