I recently rebarreled a Marlin 35 Remington with a 24” McGowen barrel chambered in 250ai. Since the rim diameter and case length are almost identical the conversion was easy. Now I am setting up to reload some ammo. Will probably start with pointed tip bullets using the gun as a 2 shooter. Would love to find some .257 Hornady Flextip bullets. Just was wondering if anybody else here has tried this or has any experience or recommendations loading the 250ai.

I seriously doubt you'll find and flex tip bullets in the caliber. Your going to be limited to one in mag, one in chamber unless you go with a round nose cast gas check bullet. Very interested in hearing how load development goes. Your action is going to limit load development compared to a bolt rifle in the same caliber.

Hornady makes a 110gr FTX in 25cal but am pretty sure they require a shorter case length.

Yes, I am on the notification list at many outlets for the 110 gr Hornady flex tips. I am going to start out with pointed bullets with one in the mag tube.

LOL! Last 25 cal I loaded for was a 25-06 back in 1972 when I was in New Mexico.
