I've had good accuracy with Rem UMC 46 gr HP as well as Federal American Eagle 50 gr HP. Both are available in the 10-11 dollar range and will produce .5 or better@100yds.

I shot a sitting crow with my ar yesterday.. The shot wasn't anything special, but a hell of a lot of fun!

Happy New Year to all of ya!

You REALLY need to reload for your barrel to get the best accuracy possible. I built my 16" carbine with an unchromed 1 in 9 twist barrel that will shoot 1" at 100 yards with handloads using the Rem 62 gr flat base HP and 60 grain V-Max. A good scope and trigger is also a must.
