Hi,
I recently stumbled on a deal on a Savage 110 in 25-06. I bought the rifle because it reminded me of a good friend now long past. My old friend was a member of a deer camp and swore by Savage's 110 as well as the 25-06. Sadly, he passed in the early 90's. However, I was very impressed with my new rifle, which like any good rifle is certainly more accurate than I am at the range. It was hitting a grapefruit with ease at 300 yards with a folded jacket as a rest. Intrigued, I purchased a Savage 93R17-GV in 17HMR. This purchase was made because I wanted to shoot more targets at 300 yards without the expense of shooting a 25-06. I put a Bushnell Engage MOA scope on the 93. This has been a lot of fun, and has boosted my confidence for game targets 100-200 yards. A good friend of mine, who is also my gunsmith, told me that Savage rifles are about as good as a man could buy spending reasonable money. I've hunted with the same Marlin 30-30 for 30 years. I guess that explains why I've kept to (-100) yard shots. That and I hunt a swamp area in the hollow. If I ever win that Tennessee Elk hunt drawing, I'll be buying a Savage 110 in 300 Win-Mag.

Anyway, Thanks for having me here. I look forward to learning more about these great rifles from Yall.
