I have an old 110 long action and need an internal mag to feed 22-250. I have a 223 mag that just quite will not fit the 22-250. It has a welded in block in the back of the mag.

You need a few of the parts here. You’ll probably need the follower as well. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/gun-manufacturer/savstevspgfld/110/110-parts-list Getting the exact parts you need is difficult. You could also just buy a cheap plastic stock that people discard after replacing with a Chassis. I gave mine away to some someone here years ago.

My advice would be to break the welds on the block & remove it.

A .223 mag won't feed a 22-250 even with the block removed. The whole magazine is narrower.

This site has so much great information if you take the time to look for it.

Acquiring one of these can be tough.

I have had at least two blind mag long actions with the 30-06 magazine boxes in them and they would feed 22-250 AI rounds reliably. I haven't shot any 22-250 fire forming rounds through them for many years, but my best recollection is that they fed OK, or if they didn't feed the full 5 out of the mag, they would at least feed two loaded by themselves, without jamming. If I can find some 22-250 cartridges I will check function with them.

EDIT:

I found some 55 grain soft point Hornady 22-250 factory ammo and tested them in an older long action with the 30-06 blind mag box. It will only feed 3 rounds before the following round nosedives into the mag box. After thinking back to 20 years ago since my original comment, when I had one chambered in 22-250 was that I would have only 2 in the mag box as the 3rd would sometimes nosedive and the 4th always failed.
