Convert .308 to .223 Model 10

Hello. I have a Cabelas special Savage 10 fcp-sr I bought several years ago. I put a criterion 6.5 creedmoor barrel on it several years ago and put it in a Choate Stock. It came with a centerfed magazine (Non AICS) that doesn’t not work with bottom metal. If I put a .223 barrel on it what would my options be in regards to the magazine. I know I will have to make changes to the bolt etc. Is there some sort of universal single shot sled or follower for these savage proprietary magazines. Thanks for any input. Oh I’m not looking at buying a chassis, if I went that route I would probably just build semi custom. Thanks !!!

I use several of SSS single shot sleds in my Model 12FV's I have. The FV has the internal magazine, I have left them in the stock, and able to use the sled w/o issue.
