Top Load a DBM?

Can a Savage detachable magazine be left in the rifle and top loaded through the ejection port? In other words can the rounds be pushed straight down into the mag or do they need to be slid in under the feed lips from the front?

That’s how I unload my rifle when hunting, ease bolt back catch cartridge and press into magazine. Don’t have to worry with fumbling with magazine and cartridge and reinstalling in rifle, ready for next trip.

Yep. That's how I load the mag even when I take it out of the rifle.
