Does anyone know if I can swap the .22 mag barrel on my "Minimalist" to a 17 HMR or what is involved with that? We've done about 10 110 series barrel swaps but I know nothing about these.

Anyone know? Im headed to a P dog hunt in June and per the owner of the place, the 17 HMR is much more "spectacular" on them as Im letting my .223 and 6.5 CM cool off... Considering doing this if anyone knows if this is possible.
The 22 mag worked amazing on larger game this year, I'd like to see more spectacular results on the pesky lil P dogs if possible....;)

Thanks all..

You should be able to do the swap as long as you can get the headspace correct.
I swapped a Green Mountain Ruger 77/22 Magnum heavy barrel on my Savage 93GL a couple years ago. I had to machine the barrel tennon to the correct size and length, but it works perfectly.

Just go buy a 93r17, quicker and easier, another gun in the safe, etc. Assuming you can find one and enough ammo for the trip.
