INB4 barrel break in is BS and not needed. I am erring on the side of caution. So don't bother chiding me if it's BS or not. I have read many opinions on the subject and have made up my own mind about it.

Anyways, I read the barrel break in posted thead and will follow it's advice. The one thing I did not see was grain weight of the ammo used. Does it matter? How heavy or light of a load is better?

Thanks!

It should not matter.

Break it in with the cheapest junk you can find and then let it rip...

The purpose is merely to try to smooth out some of the rough spots. So, anything that has a copper jacket will work fine.

Keep in mind you won't end up with a 'smooth' barrel, just 'knocking off the peaks'. I wish I had done it with mine as the barrels would have 'settled' sooner.
