I felt it was time to upgrade, give my old Ruger MkII to my brother and get myself a Savage bolt gun. That was around 2015 and I had been searching ever since. Finally an FCR-SR appeared NIB so I jumped on it and now....reading tons of great threads and learning about versions, screw spacing, bolt release etc. My primary use is precision shooting and my maximum distance around here is 200-600 yards. My goal is to see if I can change over to AICS system but will give the factory setup some range time first. Thanks for the existing threads and FAQs. Good stuff which I've saved and PDFed into my hard drive.
