I recently got a hold of a newer, bottom bolt release, large shank short action. I'm building a smokeless muzzleloader off of it. My problem , while cleaning everything I somehow lost the cocking piece sleeve. I ordered one on line, only to find it doesn't fit over the firing pin, now what ?? Where do I find the correct sleeve ?
If for some reason I can't locate one, what do I need to do/change, to make this work ? Thanks for your help

There was only 2 sleeves, but they were both the same internal diameter. In the older style, the slot where the cocking piece pin slides was cut out all the way, as you can see in the picture below. I think there might be something else going on with yours. The the sleeve you received have residual metal flashing on the inside where the cutouts for the indents were made? Pictures of your sleeve & cocking piece together would be helpful.

I don't really know how to post pics, the outside diameter of the sleeve is exactly the same diameter as my firing pin. There the same size. This is from a bolt that has the cocking indicator, if that makes a difference

Oh. You have the new style 1-piece firing pin. Yeah... no kidding it won’t fit. The New style pin doesn’t use a sleeve. Here are the 2 with corresponding parts all together. The cocking pin just goes into the hole in the large portion of the firing. You didn’t lose anything.
