Down here in south-central New Mexico at the foot of the Sacramento Mountains. Listen to the "sound of freedom" most days -- F-16s from Holloman AFB, and sometimes from the White Sands Missile Range.
Savages I have owned over the last 50 years? Three or four Model 1899s, a couple of the 30G "Favorites," a very accurate 12BVSS in .223, a Model 1920 in .300 Savage, couple of Model 1917s, both in .32 ACP, a Model 10 in .260 Remington. No Savages in the safe right now, so I thought I had better get an Axis II on the way 6mm ARC. I work in "retirement" at the Otero County Shooting Range down here in La Luz and look forward to seeing what the budget rifle in such a mild-mannered cartridge can do way out yonder -- if I can find brass and small rifle primers of course!

Welcome here partner. BTW: I LOVE your neck of the woods. Lived in Tucson for several years, and went through/stopped at White Sands driving out. What an amazing place it was. I still encourage everyone to visit. It’s just something every American should see. God’s Awesome Glory... putting almost 230 Sq. Miles of pure, IVORY WHITE sand in the middle of the beautiful Red, brown & Green Painted Deserts of Az/Nm. Just Awesome! I miss it.

Hello from a former Belenite who spent many hot days building concrete forms on white sands. And driving thru the valley of fires to the Ruidoso motorcycle festival that used to be called the Aspencade.
