I came up with something for my new Mirage Chassis. I’m not bedding the whole Action, not to start, but the area for the Recoil Lug is large. I was planning to bed the Lug, and something dawned on me. It’s a Chassis. A perfectly machined & finished Billet Aluminum Chassis. The Recoil Lug area is very nicely machined with flat & square floor & sides. So I thought... I have a bunch of pieces, scraps 6061-t6, 7075-t6, & 2024-t3 Billet Aluminum. I also have a mill, belt grinder, various measuring tools, etc. Oh! And an EXTREME fondness for machining parts coupled with a fair bit of ability. I went ahead measured & machined a plate that fit the opening & contour of the chassis perfectly, leaving NO play for the Recoil lug to float forward or backward.
Here is the part machined from 2024–t3 Billet Aluminum next to the Recoil Lug.

Here it is tucked into the Chassis. A PERFECT fit with NO mess to clean.
