How do I remove the magazine with the blocker in it for a 223 110? What can I replace it with to still use a magazine to feed longer 223 rounds. Don't want to do a single shot. Also, what about the the extension on the bolt head?

Answered in the past: https://www.savageshooters.com/showthread.php?22685-How-do-you-remove-the-magazine-box-from-a-Stevens-200

For the block in the mag box, I’m not certain if it’s friction fit, or spot welded. Will be easy to tell when the box is removed. Either way, no problem removing.

What’s wrong with mag length ammo?

The box blind mag just pops out.

And it’s the best. Just push feed them in. I have never needed a removable mag.

Just a young opinionated feller here.

Cheers

By the way. That’s a .223 gun with high power velocity heavy 5.56 round, in a long throated stock savage barrel.

I wasn't looking to use a detachable mag. Just remove the block and use a follower that would let me use the entire length of the magazine. And I see all I have to do with the bolt is change the baffle.

Yup, exactly as in described in the link I posted. Remove the bolt, and use either needle nose or a flat blade screwdriver gently pry & lift the the edge of the box.

Stagger feed or Center feed? Blind mag or DBM? If dbm and centerfeed, does it have a metal release or plastic.

What can I replace it with to still use a magazine to feed longer 223 rounds.

I am thinking you are wanting to alter the dimensions of your magazine or find a new magazine? altering the factory magazine is doable but a little skill is required. We might be able to brainstorm if we can identify what you have and what we are working with.

Also, what about the the extension on the bolt head?
It is designed to shorten the throw of the bolt. What are you wanting to know?

EDIT I didn't see any of the post below Daves first post so sorry if I repeated some questions.

Here is the staggerfeed magazine side view. You can see how the block is attached.

And the side view of a Centerfeed 223 magazine.

So the route to modify is set before us. How are we moving forward?

Yeah, I came across that picture online. Wasn’t quite sure if that was one of them. Hmm, that does present a bit of challenge. But, EH! Send it my way & I’ll bore that block right out! :ballchain:

I see how to remove the blocker, what do I put in it's place? Is there a full length follower I can put in for use with a 223?

Unfortunately I don’t know of any. That size Mag box without the blocker is used for 308 & such and uses the full length 308 follower. I’ve read about guys modifying those to use for long loaded 223, but I’ve no personal experience. Just theoretical, read knowledge.
