I decided to try to build a rile from scratch. Right after Christmas I ordered from NSS items I thought I needed.
turns out I did not need a follower if using the savage 10 receiver from the site ACIS mags won’t feed due to bolt not coming back far enough to engage. I ended up ordering a bolt face from sharp shooters supply due to not locating a .223 extractor which is ever so slightly longer than the .308 extractor that came with the Action.
Model 10 Shot action ACIS NSS
shilen heavy spotter 1 in 9 select match NSS
misc bolt face parts NSS
go/no go NSS
bell and Carson stock website
.223 trued boldface sharp short supply

All Had super fast shipping and I was ready to build in under A week.
my son had taken the action screws to dallas so I had to make some from bolt as at Ace

all in all the build went pretty well everything fit except removing the excess paint in the mag well with a razor blade.
Topped it off with a vortex strike eagle from govX

Going to shoot it after lunch
what I learned was check for yourself before buying items.
be sure you have action screws or be ready to hit up a few hardware stores.
I put too much scope on this rifle
order the trigger first it wont be here till Monday

I can make any caliber I want in short action

keep your spare parts

Looks good. Welcome to the "Build it yourself" club! As for the scope, you'll appreciate the extra magnification when shooting groups on paper out at 200yards or more.

Good looking build. And, There's no such thing as too much scope on a target rifle, on a hunting rifle you need to scope it for the intended use / purpose.

Looks good from CT. As has been said, no such thing as too much scope. Maybe not enough rifle.

Well it goes bang sot 10 at the lowest load in the book for break in and a velocity ladder.
