I have a couple of cousins a friend and my son that want to do some dog hunting. Would prefer Texas Oklahoma or New Mexico.

Looking for recommendations or pointers.

Take a couple of rifles. I have a barrel cooler that I use between uses. Shade.. One of those canapes works pretty good if you don't have wind.

Went last year. Took a 22 hornet, 223, and 243. Seemed to work. A good rest is a must. Hat, sunscreen, water, food, etc. Bucket to sit on. For (3) shooters, 2 days, I had a pick-up truck load of guns, rests, ammo, etc. Canopy was nice to have shade to eat lunch under.

I'd call the local Chamber of Commerce up there. They gave us some good leads the last time we hunted up there. I'd stay away from the so called outfitter's in the area.
We used an outfitter the first time, and he was a joke. The places he took us to hunt were pretty lame. Luckily, a local rancher stopped where we were at and invited us out to his place. We hunted on his place for the next two days for free, and absolutely had a blast shooting a bunch of p-dogs.
