I live in Anchorage, Alaska. I consider myself an avid hunter, I spent 20 years in the military. I own two savage rifles, one is a 110 Hog Hunter in 308, the other is an impulse Hog Hunter in 300 win mag. I have not pulled the trigger on the impulse as of yet. I do have a question about Impulse Big Game rifle availability. I ordered the Big Game model in July from Cabela’s and have not received it yet, the Hog Hunter Impulse I purchased through the military exchange and received it in approximately three weeks. Is the Big Game version in greater demand or not in production yet, can anyone answer this question?

As saturated as the gun market is, unfortunately many guns are released on paper before they make production to gauge interest. Some never do. I have no knowledge of the one your interested in. You could call Savage and ask it they have made a production run and which distributor acquired them if the did make some.

There has been some scrutiny over timely release of certain caliber Impulse models, if I'm not mistaken. I
believe I've read one or comments from Jim regarding this very thing. I could be wrong though. Welcome aboard "Nanook of the North"!
