short action magazine convert to long action magazine

I have a savage 110 chambered in 308 win. IT has a long action receiver with a short action top load magazine. Can this be changed into a long action magazine for a 280 AI.

Yes, it's possible. The ease of swapping requires pulling the rifles Action from stock to check config. If it is indeed a LA mag box w/spacer, simple. But if it's a SA mag box, more wold need done. Possibly to the stock as well.
