I've been looking for a Savage 110L in .308 to buy but have not seen one come up as a listing on any of the big sights I normally monitor. I have two Savage 110L in .243 and thought I could re-barrel one of those in .308 if I could find a factory take-off barrel for sale online, but again no luck locating one of those. E.R. Shaw's new barrels say specifically the bolt on the 110L will not work with their blued pre-fit barrels so buying new is not an option though them at least. If anybody has an idea where I can at least come up with a used old series 110 barrel in .308 please comment. Thanks!!

If your bolt face is shrouded like the one shown on E.R. Shaw's website, your rifle is a pre-1966 model and, to my knowledge, no pre-fit barrels are available. Doubt you'll find a factory take off considering barrels for pre-66 110s haven't been made for over 50yrs. Your only option would be a custom turned barrel to fit the pre-66 action.

Another option, depending on how bad You want it...have the 243 barrel rebored to 308 by JES, etc.

Yeeeep! But let me ask though, why do you feel a need to swap from 243 to 308? 243 is an awesome cartridge based on 308.

Even if you could find an early .308 take-off barrel, all the early guns had open sights and the chances of the barrel headspacing with the sights at the proper orientation would be slim to none.

I’ve only seen a few 308 110L’s pop for sale in the last 5+ years. One did recently sell on GB I believe. Keep an eye out and one will pop up. I’m not sure if they made significantly fewer 308’s than the other three options or people just hold on to them but I’ve definitely seen way more 243, 270, and 30-06 with 270 being the 2nd fewest in that group.
