I'm wanting to build a bolt action Savage in 6x45. I can't find anyone currently producing barrels. Are there any manufacturers currently making them, or have any available? I have not bought a donor rifle, or action yet. Thanks, in advance.

This is not going to be a high dollar custom build. I would consider a slightly used barrel if available.

Preferred barrels and x-caliber offer those calibers in prefits as well. I have a 6x45 prefit from Preferred barrels, very pleased with the accuracy (sub moa at 200yd), but on a RAR action. There is a 8-10 week wait from x-caliber at this time, I have 2 on order from their black friday sale.

A 16" one on my Striker is on the wish list. I too remember seeing them on Gun Shack site, they are in TX and answer the phone. Seems they rotate their stock often.

Timely thread. I got a Bighorn Origin with .223 and .308 bolt heads. I am going to put together a 6x45 to go along with a 6.5 MB I already have chambered for my 116 flat top. I just ordered a X-Caliber CF prefit. I generally do my own chambering but I’m gonna let them do this one. I don’t expect issues, but if there are it’s on them. X-Caliber is having a sale right now, at least I think it’s still on. Gonna put it in a MDL, first chassis rifle for me.
