Ok so the large doe was shot at 318 yards with the 225g Hornady match 300 PRC from my custom savage FCP. Bullet magicly missed every bone going in and out. Perfectly between the ribs going in and out. Made the inside of that deer like soup. Just destroyed everything from lungs, liver, and kidneys. She dropped in her footprint and never flinched after the fact. Hit about 4" rearward of the front shoulder center mass. My fault overcompensating for the 25-35 mph gust we were having this morning. Photo of the rifle is where i made my shot from. Looks nice and clear in the photo but was actually just starting to storm. Got nasty while we were cleaning the doe. For all the damage inside that deer, none of the meat was ruined. Oddly the exit wound was about the size of a golf ball. I honestly expected worse.

Then this evening i got this small spike (honestly thought it was a young doe) Was getting really foggy. Shot was standing leaning against the corner of a small building to stabilize. This was done with my custom savage axis with a SWFA 10x MOA chambered in 7.62x39 with wolf 124g HP at 87 yards. Got the deer in the scope and yelled "HEY", as soon as the deer looked at me i shot for the nose, hitting just above the nose and exiting out behind the ear. Instant drop. This one will be damn good eating. I keep saying this Mcgowen barrel in 7.62x39 is extremely impressive 1 moa shooter with this ammo. Love this lil rifle.

Both kills were extremely ethical and caused no suffering of the deer. Both will be eaten and not wasted.
