Axis style Box magazines

I have a Model 11 with the Axis style box magazine with the plastic clip on the front that purchased for just the action and trigger so it did not come with a magazine. It currently has a 243 barrel on it but will be swapping that out to some form of 6mm, either a BR or Dasher and so my question is which magazine do I need to find? Can I just use a stock 243 magazine of do I need something else because of the very short case length?

For the BR, Dasher there is a specific magazine. Or you can use 308 mags, but they must be blocked. Same goes for the internal boxes.

Thanks Dave. Can you explain "Blocked" or provide a link explaining how or what is needed? Seems right now there are no Savage mags other than maybe ebay.

Thanks, I see how they are doing that and makes sense. What do they do for the factory 4 round magazines? Does anyone offer the same design?

Don’t believe so. I would just make one. How’r your fabrication skills? Piece of aluminum, or maybe Delrin, even a piece of hardwood. Measure the mag specs & the OAL you will need, then cut/sand the material to fit.
