How old is the rifle you have?
What year?

First thank you everyone for your responses. Been a little busy. But today I got my project off to a start as I picked up an older model 11 in 243 that for all arguments I can make has never seen a full box run through it. Absolutely beautiful shape. With a scope mounted I picked it up for only 250 bucks.

So ill be going with 358 winchester. I noticed on ER shaws barrel options page it asks for long or short shank which from here I know how to find out with the barrel nut. There is also an option for "older 110 with countersink bolt"... can anyone tell me about that?

The recessed bolt & barrel chamber was on much older Savage 110’s. There was a recent thread about it. It is much like the Remington M700’s. Not missing anything.
