MKII - 93-E reciever ??

the MKII .22 is the same action base as the Savage 93-E reciever correct ?
(when it comes to stocks like the boyds tacticool ?? )

I called Savage customer service to verify my MK II FV had the 93 E series receiver. It did. From my understanding of talking to them, NOT all MK II's automatically have the 93 E receiver. The customer service rep. said that the only way to know for sure was to call them with the serial number. Maybe this was just CYA on the part of the person I spoke to - I'm not sure.

FWIW - The Boyd's Tacticool stock was a tight fit for my Savage MK II FV barrelled action. Also Boyds has some on hand.
