Just joined the forum, hope everyone has a blessed day today.
Bought my son the Savage 220L for deer and bear season here in PA recently.
I had a 212 years ago and traded it on something else, why do I do that?
Maybe because I still own my first slug gun that has been proven effective many times?
A semi auto 16 gauge with a factory slug barrel and rifle sights.
But was happy when my son asked me about the Savage 220L, and if I thought it was worthy of his savings.
He will use it for whitetail and bear. He picked out a 3x9x40 Vortex scope for the top also. I am curious to shoot it and find out if its accurate as advertised?
I was lucky and found 5 boxs of Remington Accutip sabot slugs on line. This lack of ammo thing is starting to really irritate me. Also the lack of firearms to choose from is problematic, as the new 220L has a laminated wood thumbhole stock.
I could not find one that had the composite stock for the price of this one? I figured I would find a takeoff stock on ebay or gunbroker, but I haven't yet?
Any body have one?
