Currently running a 4.4 SA with detachable mag in an Oryx chasis.

Going to a more traditional style stock, have used Hogue with the full al block in the past and like their design so picking up one for this action.

No longer have the original stock or bottom metal- what will I need to run standard AICS mags with this stock?

Do I need this entire assembly:

That seems like overkill.

Thanks, Matt.

Might have to do a little fitting work for the PT&G unit (never tried one so can't say for certain - but their Savage parts have a rep for not being drop-in at this point). The other option would be the factory Savage AICS bottom metal from say a Model 110 Tactical or newer 110 Scout

Thanks- is the factory piece actually metal or just plastic?

Is this stock compatible with the bottom bolt release?

Factory ones are metal and may or may not be sourced from Accurate Mag, so they could be another source for you.

Can't say I've ever seen a Savage AICS bottom metal that also had the bottom bolt release as usually the mag release lever is at the rear of the mag utilizing that space between the mag and trigger guard.

Stock came in and this is how it looks with the one screw obviously just holding the action in place- look about right?

Looks good from where I’m sitting mattri. Guess you won’t know 100% until it’s all together & you function test.

Thanks Dave,

I'm new to the dbm world and just not used to how everything goes together compared to the internal mag models.

Guess I just have to order some bottom metal and hope for the best.

Well I ordered some bottom metal from Atlas-

https://atlasworxs.com/shop/atlasworxs-bottom-metal-dbm-aics-savage-model-10-11-12-sa/

The company's communication was good, the product was shipped well, didn't realize it was coming out of Australia so it took a little while but no big deal.

The only problem is that it doesn't fit. I don't know if the bottom metal is a little off or if the Hogue cut out is a little off but either way they don't line up.

The top of the bottom metal won't slide into the cut out in the stock and seat.

It looks like a little filing of the aluminum chassis should open up the stock inlet enough to fit- will go slow and post results.
