View Full Version : Will 112-FV 22-250 feed 260 Rem swap?

I have a 112-FV in 22-250 that I haven't shot in 20 years. I've been considering selling it but then remembered I have a barrel of about the same heavy profile in 260 Rem. I bought that barrel years a go with the idea of swapping it onto the 112 long action, but never got around to it.

IIRC the bolt head can handle the 260 (inform me if I'm wrong) and now I'm wondering if the internal magazine (and follower) made for the 22-250 will feed the 260 without issues or jams... is it long enough and angled correctly... or any other issue... any experiences with 308 size cases in a long action 22-250?

If this works, I may get a wrench and keep the rifle after all.
Thanks

It should work just fine.

Thanks, i appreciate the quick replies.
Do y'all have a particular wrench you recommend?
A long time ago I ordered a wheeler form Midway but found the quality and tolerances to be unacceptable (more than 10 years ago) and returned it. Don't know if they have gotten any better, but I see they are still made in China and that makes them a crap shoot...

I use the Wheeler. Have found it to work just fine. It’s a fairly stout piece of steel.
