Just picked up a 243 my dad owned since the late sixties. It’s a Savage 110-C. I have a vortex scope I want to mount on it but I’m not sure what I need for a mount on the rifle itself. The scope has rings set up for a rail so I’d like to go that route but I don’t know where to start. Any help is appreciated. I wish I knew how to put a picture on here as that would help.

thanks,

Meeker

You'll need a Picatinny rail for a flat back receiver, EGW has 0 and 20MOA bases for long and short actions.

This link should take you to a diagram at EGW's website showing the differences - https://www.egwguns.com/savage-flat-back-short-action-picatinny-0-moa

Second the EGW suggestion. I have used a few of them on older 110s and they are the cat's meow.

One issue to note on the EGW rail (which I use myself), it will raise the scope so you may have to adjust (modify) the stock so you can obtain a consistent cheek wield.

Another EGW customer. I always went with the 20moa ones.
