Impulse Big Game Equipment

Have Big Game Impulse in 6.5 with thermal on it. I use this primarily for hog hunting in Texas with a little predator calling mixed in. Really want to upgrade magazine to a 10 rounder for coming up on large sounders of pigs.

Does anyone know if other Savage magazines will fit the Big Game?

or

If there are any up and coming aftermarkets for these new impulses?

BTW.. Loving the rifle so far. Man will it shoot!

Not sure if the Impulse is using the same magazine bottom plates as the 110's, but if so this would fit the bill.

I couldn't find anything on the google or savage's website about the type of magazine being used in the impulse big game version.
I think a call to savage may be in order for you.
The main reason I bought the predator model, was having the ability to use tired + true 5 or 10 round AICS Magazine's.
Save yourself from the grief + aggravation in dealing with extended savage magazines and consider acquiring a 6.5 CM chambered predator model.

Savage proprietor magazine system sucks. Been through 4 rifles with there crappy magazines. Stay away from their magazine systems or change out chassis to use other magazines. Savage rifles May shoot good but once I sell my current savage rifle, I won’t buy another unless it uses another magazine system besides their crap.

Does your Big Game model have the mag. release button on the magazine, itself?

The problem you have encountered is why I bought the Predator model in 6.5 Creedmoor. It is equipped from Savage with an AICS style 10 rd. magazine, made by Accurate Mag. At this time, I am working out some compatability problems with magazines that have polymer top end with thick polymer feed lips.

AICS style Magazines with steel feed lips are working just fine.

I got one of these 55185 magazines for my .308 Impulse Big Game. It does actually work, though you have to push the mag back after inserting to get it to click into place. Presumably, it would also work with the Savage Impulse Hog Hunter model as I believe it uses the same 4 round flush fit mag, with only the Predator model using a different type.
It's also worth noting that despite being labeled as 10 round mags, I was unable to insert a magazine with 10 rounds in it when the bolt was forward, and the 10th round would pop out when I tried inserting with the bolt to the rear. Therefore, it's practically a 9 round magazine, at least until the springs wear out a lot.
Unfortunately, few retailers have them in stock and I had to pay slightly above the already high MSRP (Ebay being the best deal), but it was worth it to me to have a spare magazine, particularly one with greater capacity.
