I realize this is the 110 section, but I wanted to know your thoughts on the Axis II series rifles.

My brother-in-law is about to purchase an Axis II Precision in .308, and I wasn't sure how they compared to the 110 series rifles. He likes the AR-style stock and the adjustability of the MTD chassis. I have a Model 10, and don't have any experience with the Axis rifles.

He asked my opinion, and I told him I thought the 110 was a better choice than the Axis.

Are the Axis rifles fine, or should he stick with a 110?

This is the rifle - https://www.savagearms.com/content?p=firearms&a=product_summary&s=57550

Thanks.

Won't go wrong there. Axis action is actually stronger. Nothing savage is bad keep that in mind. I have savige 840 all the way to chassis rifles never had a bad savage.! Good day and good hunting if you do that.

Thanks guys.

I passed-on your comments to him, and he decided to purchase the rifle.

Sounds like it will be a good choice for him, but I didn't want to recommend it without getting some opinions from people that are familiar with them.

Thanks again.
