Which 17 hmr load works best in your rifle? CCI? Hornady? or Winchesters? How much are your groups differing? Poly tips or TNT's?

I have two HMR's, I have tried them all . . . . . . I'm afraid that's all I can say :'(

Keep the barrel clean is about all the advice I can give! It seems my groups with my 17HMR's depend on me, not the ammo! I have had good luck will all of them, and bad luck with all of them!!!!!!

Hopefully somebody can help us both out!

PS: I have shot several 5 shot groups less than .200 with both guns, but I guess the conditions at the time were perfect and me also!

.17 93bvss I've went through some Hornady 20gr and the remington 17gr. Both shot very well. never measured groups. greatest variance has been me also. had some groups that are extremely tight (.200 and better i could agree with) and a some not so stellar groups.

definitely had to re sight after switching from the rem 17gr to the hday 20gr.

Generally the 20 grain Hornady's shoot the best.

interesting i had no idea that was the case. I was wandering why remington rimfire rounds were shooting that well.... lol ;) theyre made next to the hornady's thats why.

If you look at the rounds marked Hornady you will see that the hp they use is the speer tnt,cci speer rds that are poly tipped are from hornady, hornady makes the poly bullet and CCI makes the tnt bullets theyre are all assembled at ATKs plant in Lewiston Idaho
