Savage 110 long range hunter need reviews

I'm looking at getting the lrh in 6.5x284. How heavy is this gun I know what website says but wanted someone who has held one to tell me. I'll be carrying it in for deer hunting and maybe hunt out west. Thanks

What caliber is yours and do you think it be good for hunting platform

I live on a ranch in New Mexico and I no longer hunt but my neighbor and his two teen daughters, 13 & 16, do...the 16yo used this last year and harvested an elk. If a 16 year old can carry it in the field and take a bull elk with it, I would have to say "yep" for her it was a good hunting platform.

I put a 4-12x50 Leupold Freedom scope on it for her and when she was practicing she used the brake but after a while decided to turn it off....said it was "too loud"! Her elk was at 250 yards and she used Hornady's Premium Hunter 143 ELD-X.


Be interested to know how your 6.5x284 shoots if you get it.
