I just got a 12 VBSS in .223 (2007 vintage) and would like to set it up with a receiver sight. Just curious if anyone has done it with this model? Thinking a barrel band/weaver block on front and same on rear using sights made for a weaver rail (AR style sights). My AR handle/sight fits on a weaver rail pretty nicely. Just need to come up with something better than duct tape on the front. (-:}

Any thoughts appreciated. I am budget conscious.

I would think a rail plus a front sight might be a little too high. The cheek of the stock on the BVSS is quite low. I have almost 1" riser on mine to use a scope with medium rings.

Barrel band front sights used to be pretty common. Try looking up what Numrich Gun Parts has laying around. The other problem you might run into is the heavy barrel on the BVSS.

If you wanted to drill and tap your options open up a lot. Like a low profile Lyman or Williams receiver sight and low ramp front sight.
