She is 12, and shoots a fair amount, but not an avid shooter, or hunter. She does like to shoot P dogs and coyotes.
She has eyes like her uncle, my son, and can see forever.

I'm getting into her gun fairly cheap about $550.

I still need a claw sling, Limbsaver, scope bases and rings, and a scope.

SO what should I do for a scope, she has no idea scope #1 to scope #5, so it will be up to me to get something she can use and keep for a time without upgrading and not break old Papa's wallet.

I have a Burris that I like on my 8mm, the rest of my guns have Redfield or Leopold's. A little more than I want to spend on here first.

At Amazon, I can get a Burris droptine for 160 bucks.

https://www.amazon.com/Burris-Dropti...E18F64SK3TR3HE (https://www.amazon.com/Burris-Droptine-Riflescope-Ballistic-Reticle/dp/B00HNSK7KK/ref=pd_lpo_200_t_0/147-8134339-9192638?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00HNSK7KK&pd_rd_r=db52578a-8936-450b-9742-cc7b976a43cd&pd_rd_w=sr2Ik&pd_rd_wg=vwkG0&pf_rd_p=a0d6e967-6561-454c-84f8-2ce2c92b79a6&pf_rd_r=QP5V27E18F64SK3TR3HE&psc=1&refRID=QP5V27E18F64SK3TR3HE)

And at Amazon, I can get a Vortex very similar for the same price.

https://www.amazon.com/Vortex-Optics...34&sr=8-4&th=1 (https://www.amazon.com/Vortex-Optics-Diamondback-Riflescope-Dead-Hold/dp/B0028NA8Q8/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwkN6EBhBNEiwADVfya34aU5cL1SV7wQhth1Iz KTVrx0DjVk2pdT1WVNTJutCcgzdOr1hTxxoCO9sQAvD_BwE&hvadid=409930961421&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9021219&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=10872833020335241946&hvtargid=kwd-133812899543&hydadcr=9654_11535456&keywords=vortex%2B3x9x40&qid=1620587234&sr=8-4&th=1)

Of those two what would be your choice?

Or similar at the same price point.

In general i like Burris over Vortex scopes, but i have not purchased a Burris scope less than about double what you are looking to spend. I have got an Athalon Talos that was a very nice scope for that money, and i did get a Bushnell Engage with exposed turrets on Clearance for about that money that is a really nice little scope for that money. Sorry i am not much help since i don't have direct experience with those scopes.

I have 2 Athlon Talos scopes, and perform well for me. I also have 2 Mueller scopes which are decent for a 1st scope, but the Talos has better glass.

I think that burris is the same model that natchez has on sale for 119. If that is the way you go, there is a cheaper and reliable alternative to amazon.

It seams to be, I did not look to see what freight would be.

I may be too late but cyclops on Youtube test a lot of inexpensive scopes. In my opinion he roots out the crap and gives a pretty good reviews. I am a snob of sorts but would choose something he likes if I was in that price range.

I have purchased a couple of the clearance Bushnell Nitros from Natchez and Midway to put on a couple of rifles, one of which is my Howa Mini in 6.5 Grendel. I put a 2.5-10x44 on that particular rifle as its my go to Coyote rifle at the moment and has worked flawlessly for the last year no problems at all. I have been very happy with it. Clarity is as good if not better than any vortex I have used, the reticle is awesome for quick holdover or wind and most importantly has been reliable and repeatable.

Dunns has the Burris FF E1 4.5-14x42 on sale for $180. Not too heavy or too complicated.

Only thing I've never cared for with the Burris scopes is that they coat their lenses with something that gives the picture a noticeable yellow hue. My guess (and that's all it is) is that it's an amber coating like you'd find on a camera lens filter and it's just used to make the image appear brighter (same as yellow tinted shooting glasses would do). Doesn't seem to detract from the performance any, but I just don't care for it preferring a natural (non-tinted) view. Another company whose name escapes me ATM used to do the same thing but with a very faint green hue that reminded me of looking through that green tint people would put on their car windows in the 70's/80's.

I have my eye on a Redfield 4X12 lightly used.
The rifle got here in time for her Birthday.
She loves it so far.

I found Federal gold box with 130 Berger bullets 6 boxes, delivered to my house for $185.
It take 20 to brake in the barrel.
We have hunting loads, we also have an AR Grendel.
