This gun seems to shoot very well Haven't tried allot of different loads yet. Found a good load with H4831sc and 140 sierra gk. Went to Wyoming antelope hunting. After 1 day hunting some sort of clear coat on the stock started to peal off. Antbody else having the same issue? Any load sugestions would be great.

I had the same problem with my LRH in 6.5x.284 Norma. I sent the stock back to savage after my phone call to them .I received a new one and so far so good. They want you to take all parts off your stock except for the cheek piece and internal bedding block, keep everything as you will have to put it back together. Make sure you take notes so you wont forget how to replace the parts. You must re torque the the 3 action screws to 40" lbs.
Don,t throw the wedge away.
I use H4831sc 51.5 grains with any 140 grain bullets as well the 142 SMK. F210,R91/2 primers are the best for me. I use Nosler Custom Brass and also Winchester .284 stuff.

Good shooting.

If you go to Page 12 and find 6.5x284 Long Range Hunter it will help you.

I seat them out a ways as the LRH has almost a 1/2" free bore.Depends on the bullet type the 140,s 3.180 ", The shorter one,s deeper 3.100" should get you near to a good C.O.A.L..

Good shooting.
