I have a couple of SA stainless. One I bought as a 243, it was the last one on sale. I tried some loads and was unimpressed. I then found a butchered SA wood stock, stretched it and installed the action. Bingo, a fine shooting rifle. My second action is off a varmint, I have since moved on to a full match model, so I'm using that plastic stock again, as a 260. I haven't found another wood stock, they are none too common. A Boyds 50% fiquire maple is $350US, ouch. So are there any other rifle model stocks, like Remington, that may be modified to fit. I just finished putting a M98/38 Mauser into a Husqvarna M1600 stock.
