I'm setting up my brand spanking new 110 Tactical 300 WM and need advice on a muzzle brake. My budget is around $150. I'm old but will give up a degree of comfort for accuracy.

My old Savage 116 in 30-06 with a built it brake is fantastic. I can shoot it all day with no pain. I called Savage about the new rifle and the CS guy encouraged my to investigate other brakes besides Savage's. It's refreshing to encounter such honesty. Makes me keep coming back to Savage. That and the great rifles.

Anyone care to share their experience? I'm thinking I need a five-port something.

Thx,

I love my Patriot Valley Arms Jet Blast. It's rated up to 300 WM but they also have the larger Shockwave model. Both are within your budget, which I think you will have a hard time staying in with other quality brakes.

Just slightly over your price range is the Area 419 Sidewinder. It's very effective and what I really like the most, is the easy removal and reinstallation of it for cleaning. It can be reattached and leveled without worrying about timing it right and having to re-zero.

I have a precision armament M11 brake on my 308 and am very happy with it. Price is just under your budget.

Here is a interesting test if you have never seen it. It is where I found the above muzzle brake.

+1 for Area 419. Definitely worth a look.
