I am 75 . Have been hunting , target shooting for 50 years. I now have a small gunsmithing operation primarily focused on restoration of long guns. I became hooked on Savage about 12 years ago when I purchased a Savage 12 LRPV in 22-250. With a bit of load development it performed as good as my 7000 dollar custom Barnard P 6 BR to 300 yards. I have since bought many Savage 110 and 12's. Best bang for the buck in an out of box firearm. So , I began collecting Savage 99's about 6 months ago and have accumulated 35 as of today. The learning curve has been steep and expensive but I have now settled in to condition and rarity , not one or the other. My prized gun thus far is an unfired 1946 Savage 99 EG in 300 that was purchased just after the war by a man who passed away weeks after he bought it in 1946. I purchased it at an estate sale. Cheers
