Just joining in on this site - looks like a lot of knowledge here, ive been a Savage owner for many years, just got my original 110E back recently from my brother, its an 80’s model .270WIN and getting pretty crusty so plannin on tearing it down and building a new hunting rifle out of it. I have many questions(about everything) so hopin to get some advice here! Thanks in advance. Also recently bought a used 116 for cheap(had DBM feeding issues)and was surprised when i called Savage they instantly sent me a new mag no questions asked ! Great service and it fixed the problem

Welcome from colorful Colorado
Savage Arms is great! I recently bought a rifle that has been in storage since 2012. New in box unopened. Call Savage about activating the warranty, they took my info and serial number said warranty is active and there are no recalls on your rifle. Thank you for buying Savage.

Anybody know if the old 110 2-position safety could be changed over to 3 position ? I would guess not but its nice to be able to open bolt with safety on.
Always loved the location of Savage safety- feel like its the best by far. I have had Rem700 and Tikkas(worst safety imo) flicked off in the brush. Win model70 and Ruger77 (non tang) are 2nd best but can still be moved by limbs or brush. funny after many years of using other rifles then goin back
to Savage last Nov for deer hunt i realized how superior the safety location is.
