Very nice... and I am sure it wasn't the headache that mine was!!! I dont think I would do mine again. You may have a better idea. The sponge method is fast and easy. Thanks Jeffrey.

Those look really good.
I've painted a couple AR's that I've built using rattle can and air brushing methods.

We can obviously see who the pro and the amateur is here!!!! ha ha ha!!!! Very, very nice Tex. I guess your automotive body-shop background came in handy for gun painting too!!!! ha ha ha !!! I am impressed!!!

I've done a few rifles in the past using Krylon camo colors and stencils from Bulldog.
I use Ford camo on my RRA's....." You can have any color you
want as long as it's black."

Yes, But Ford never offered Matte Black as a color!

If he had thought of it I bet he would have :)
At a gun show some time back, there was a Knight's Armament done up
in 4 tone black. I guess the trick was to have each pattern at a differing
matte level but none that would shine. I think the paint job was worth more
then the rifle itself !! Kind of like custom ghost coating on show cars.

I see this thread is a few months old, but I've done a little camo painting from time to time! (https://www.savageshooters.com/showthread.php?58717-DrThunder-s-Rattlecan-Massacre)

No, unless you call stove paint on a rifle "camo". Actually, I did it on a couple of them and the result was nice but I later learned that it really takes away from the resale value of a firearm sometimes if you try to resell it. Oh well, done is done and I like how they now look. I don't plan on getting rid of them anyway.
You can have any color you want as long as it's black.
Yeah....and the Piper Cub...long as it's yellow!

I'm also getting pretty good at turning synthetic stocks into fancy wood looking stocks using Alcohol Inks.

When I rebarreled my 110 I did the factory stock in a black/gray texture paint. It offers a better grip surface and comes in a variety of two tone colors.
