Hi all,

Did a search but found nothing specific to this. If someone knows if this has been answered already then a point in the right direction would be appreciated.

I have a 110 BA stealth in 300wm. It comes with a 5 round MDT 3.850 Magazine.

I have not been able to look at the stealth evolution as there’s been none in Aus iv seen at any shop.

The evo according to Savages website and pics comes with what looks like a plastic 10 round mag.

first question as iv heard the 300wm mag for the evo is actually metal. Is the evo 300wm plastic?

second one is has anyone tried one on a normal stealth chassis? I’m aware the action is the same but the chassis is different, probably not by much, but still different.

Im after some more mags and a 10 round would be handy.

thanks in advance. Andrew

The 300 stealth Evo comes with a metal magazine in two different configurations ( 5 & 10 rounds). Looks like only the short action configurations have polymer mags. I don’t think MDT sells polymer long action mags. The stealth evos have vanished from the states since May 2020, I have been looking for one in 338 Lapua with zero luck.
I dropped my 300 WM 110 stealth in an MDT ACC chassis and the metal mag fits like a glove .Any savage long action mag should technically fit in a long action chassis.
AICS makes 10 rounders for 300 wm. If you reload , try RL22 and H1000 with 225 eldm , I am getting some .2 groups with ease.
hope this helps .

Cheers. I didn’t want plastic just the 10 round option so glad there only metal. I would love to use h1000 but no one imports it here. If I don’t see stock of the ADI powders soon I will try the RL 26. Seems to be the closest to the 2217 iv been using. Iv tried the 212 eld-x which worked well, but Mine really likes the Berger VLD 190. I’ve had them consistently touching at 200yards

Lol, yeah plastic sucks . Forget H1000 if you aren’t shooting heavy pills, RL26 is way better in terms of speed and SD. H1000 was about 153 FPS slower than RL26 in my testing with 225 eld and 230 smk. Berger VLD 190 with RL26 will put you in 300 Weatherby territory (3100fps ); you definitely won’t be making buddies at the range . The Berger bullets are definitely superior to the ELD-X In my testing in 308,6.5 creedmoor . We don’t have have 2217 here unfortunately but I have heard about it from my relatives in France.

ADI 2217 is pretty much just H1000 so your not missing much.
