this has really got me. Every Savage bolt I've taken apart has a ex bolt at the end that lets you remove the guts. This Elite Precision only has a small button. No slot, no hex...nothing. How does this come apart? Here's a pic I've taken. If it's something simple I'll be very pleased to feel stupid.https://scontent-ort2-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/138928437_10159117845479913_5352781349136755312_o. jpg?_nc_cat=110&ccb=2&_nc_sid=730e14&_nc_ohc=RKPFQw4aTwUAX9JbrvS&_nc_ht=scontent-ort2-2.xx&oh=a96f7e2f0d7f943a3316b94b4ce29564&oe=602B1D8F

Never mind, I'm dumb. You just de-cock it and it reveal the hex...

Glad I'm not the only one who has done this. My first Savage (Model 10 Trophy Hunter) I had this same question until like you, I decocked it and the light bulb went off. :D

Me 3. But I knew it was there before so I just kept looking. Now if I can just keep the damn thing on there now that it's been loosened.

Looks like the same way an Axis bolt is disassembled.

Are you installing a bolt lift kit??

I would also love to know, I just picked up an elite precision in 6.5 and my bolt lift is measuring 9 lbs. on my trigger scale. I would would love to see that reduced some.
