Great time today at the range. Juuuust a bit chilly though, only 40 degrees, but that keeps the barrels cool.

Super Duece (222 Magnum AI) provided a great showing at 1150 yards. Dialed up and banging steel at long range is fun with 80 gr Amax's....especially with little recoil. The shooters I shot with are amazed at the potential this "little 22" cartridge will do.

Also shot the 6.5x55 AI at the same distance with 142 gr Sierra HPBT's. Definitely puts a whack on the steel at distance.

Fire formed some Norma and Armscor brass in two different 223 AI's as well. Had one fail to fire of the Armscor brass. Of course, bullet stuck in the barrel when I opened the bolt, so, had small powder mess, and need to pop the bullet out with the cleaning rod. Oh well, such is life.

The Armscor brass was purchased already primed. Not sure what the fail to fire reason is, but will pop the primer out to investigate further.

Did meet a nice outdoor enthusiast though. Jeff Engle, Outdoor Channel, is wrapping up a hunting trip in Montana. Nice person and a good shooter as well. If you get a chance to meet him, mention the eastern Montana group!
