So I purchased this 110 storm LH 7mm-08 in July of 2019.
I never messed with the accufit stock because the way it came fit me perfectly.
This weekend I took the butt pad off and was going to change it up so my 10YO could shoot it.
The pictures below are what I found inside the stock once I got the accufit disassembled. The bottom screw whole had been reamed out or otherwise damaged. I can only assume from the factory.
I sent an email to Savage with this explanation and pictures but since it has been over a year Im not sure if they will help me out with warranty coverage or not.
Any similar experiences with Savage and situations like this? Im still waiting to hear back form them.

Savage is usually very good about taking care of their customers, though communication from them can be slow at times. Best bet is always to call them during normal business hours rather than simply relying on an email.

Just a suggestion. If it were Me, I would coat the screw with Kiwi Neutral shoe polish, run the screw in, cover the area with JB Weld, let dry then remove the screw. It will be stronger than new and no worries or lost time with Savage. If Your rifle shoots good in that stock, I would be reluctant to change it. Best of Luck :usa2:

If it is still under Savage warranty, I would try to see if they can simply send you just a new stock. You pictures are good enough to see the defect.

+1 for the JB Weld idea. Might not be worth the pain to send it back, etc.

This will work for sure if its out of warranty or if they let you keep the stock and you wind up with a spare.
I did a build several years ago where I cut a stock down for the kids beyond the plastic screw anchor points and built them both back similar to this method. I used tape top and bottom to build a pocket for the epoxy I put the epoxy in first and then ran the polish covered screw in and let it set up. Been holding tight for many years of pretty rough use.

If it came from the factory like that, it's sorry ass attempt to quiet it, it looks like someone just stuffed a piece foam they found laying around no taught or concern

Well, it works. It's a cheap, fast solution. Just wedges of styrofoam. Not rocket science.

Update:
With no reply as of yet to my email I called them on the phone: waited for 45 minutes.
Warranty Dept rep. was polite and easy to work with. I told him my situation and he ask for the SN and said i'll have a new stock to you within 5 days.
I asked if they wanted to see the pictures he said " No I trust you" hahaha
Hopefully they come through. I could tell they are super busy. I told him I had emailed last week and he said they email department is swamped and it was a good thing I called.

That sounds pretty good, just the way it should be. Now, the wait for the stock arrival begins.
