bolt head looks like a used

I ordered a bolt head from Gun shack. Here is what I get. It looks like a used. Has anyone ordered this bolt head before?

Looks like some issues around the firing pin hole. It is probably new but I don't like the dings near the hole. What does it look like in person?

Do you have an ultrasonic cleaner? If not, SS wet pin tumbling should take the polishing compound off, if that's what it is. Hard to tell in the photos.

I polish the bolt face by applying some double stick tape to a spent cartridge and then some 400 or 500 grit W/D. Spin against the face gradually going to higher grits until you have the finish you want.

I think it is new. There is no primer ring around the firing pin hole. If it is from Savage then that’s about what I would expect. They don’t clean up anything very well any more.

Clean the heck out of it and then after one trip to the range, it will look exactly like that. LOL

Probably heat treated or case hardened.
